Super-duper exciting event planned for June 12-13: “Breakfast at Cinder Hills OHV Area” in Flagstaff!! Details below.
Also save the date for July 17-19 Pinetop-Lakeside trip (July 18 meet and greet). Note: Chris Gammage is working with 100+ 6-12 year olds for the month of June so you are stuck with me for a bit!
RSVP to aracki@azstateparks.gov and please let me know:


  1. Are you staying overnight or arriving Saturday morning?
  2. Do you want to do a potluck BBQ Friday night? What would you bring to the potluck?
  3. Are you planning to stay at Bonito Campground (with facilities) or Cinder Hills (without facilities)?
  4. Does anyone have a big grill to cook the pancakes on? Does anyone have a generator (for back-up use)?
WHAT: Pancake Breakfast for the Public, Meet & Greet, Distribute On-Site Surveys, Install Signs

WHEN: Friday June 12: Dinner and Camp (optional)
Saturday June 13, 2009 (7:15AM to 2PM)

WHERE: Cinder Hills OHV Area, Coconino National Forest. See http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/recreatio...der-hills.shtml for more information on Cinder Hills and Bonito Campground.

DIRECTIONS: Drive northeast of Flagstaff on US 89 approximately 7 miles north of Flagstaff Mall. Turn east (right) on FR 776. Cinder Hills is 13 miles northeast of downtown Flagstaff, south of Sunset Crater/Wupatki National Monument. Elevation is 6,900 feet.

OVERNIGHT STAY: Dispersed camping at Cinder Hills – no bathroom facilities (or you may stay at Bonito Campground which has facilities)

WHAT TO BRING: Gloves, work attire for sign installation, riding gear/vehicle, sunscreen, dinner, snacks, lunch (pancakes and coffee for breakfast). Camping - bring all personal gear. Some water and snacks provided.

Invite your friends! Ambassadors and non-Ambassadors

WHO YOU WILL LIKELY SEE THERE: OHV Clubs (Coconino Trail Riders, Cinder Hill Rough Riders, and more), Land Agencies (AZGFD, BLM, USFS, NPS, ASP), OHV enthusiasts

ITINERARY:


Friday, June 12:

1:00PM: Amy to pick up trailer at BLM Phx office, 21605 N. 7th Ave in Phoenix

1:30PM: Drive to Cinder Hills, set-up camp, dinner in town or potluck?


Saturday, June 13:

7AM - 7:30AM:
Volunteers arrive on-site

7:30AM – 8:00AM: Set-up, review Action Plan (non-Ambassadors sign individual volunteer agreements),

8:00AM-10:30AM:
Forest Service Welcome, Breakfast and Meet & Greet (distribute surveys to OHV users)

10:30AM- 2:00PM: Sign installations, meet and greet, etc.

2:00PM: Sign-out and conduct your own business (volunteers off-duty)
